With us you can enjoy a range of activities to relax and enjoy your Kenyan adventure

Below is a brief highlight of the available activities in the Lake Nakuru area. If there is something else you would like to do then do not hesitate to ask and we will use our local knowledge to help you out as best we can!

Hike the Menengai crater

Villa Mailaika is built at the foot of the Menengai. The Menengai crater is a massive shield volcano with one of the biggest calderas in the world. From our home we can organise a hike with stunning views and with varying levels of intensity, so something everyone can enjoy.

Bake honest bread

Angelien will bake amazing sourdough bread for the included breakfast. Are you also interested in baking bread from scratch? Join her and feel like a French boulanger in Kenya for the day!

Spot birds from the terrace

Bring your binoculars and spot rare African birds from our terrace. Alternatively, we can organize a trip to Lake Baringo, with abundant waterbirds.

Visit Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru National park is one of the most beautiful national parks in Kenya. With the complete big 5 and the rare Rothschild giraffe, there is enough to see. From Villa Malaika we can organise a trip through the National park with the Rav4 and a knowledgeable driver.

Play tennis with locals

Active person at home? Couldn’t leave your tennis racket at home? No worries! There is a nice sports club near by so we can play doubles all evening. More a golf kind of person? Our neighbour has a massive golf club so even that could be organised!

Paint amazing skies

Bring your brushes, paint and paper; setup our easel and paint the ever changing skies over Lake Nakuru.

We had a great time playing tennis whilst at Villa Malaika along with a few of the locals at the sport centre in Nakuru

When hiking over the edge of the Menengai we constantly had an amazing view over the crater. It was near by Villa Malaika, so from the edge we could walk straight back the the villa to get lunch. It was a bit of an adventurous walk, but definitely worth it!
